Jason W. Hauck

Picture
Jason was raised in Woodstock, Illinois, and graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School in 1992. He earned an Associate’s degree from McHenry County College in 2007 and then earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Columbia College of Missouri in 2009. Many of his college course credits were earned while working full-time.

While attending Northern Illinois University College of Law on a merit-based scholarship, he completed an externship with the Kane County Public Defender’s Office. Jason used the privileges of a Supreme Court Rule 711 license which allows students to actively participate in the practice of law under the supervision of licensed attorneys. While working at Kane County, he aided attorneys with their representation of indigent clients charged with DUI, and was an integral member of the team during three jury trials. Jason wrote a successful motion to suppress evidence in a felony drug possession case. The evidence was suppressed, forcing the State’s Attorney to drop all charges, due in large part to improper and unconstitutional police procedure. Additionally, he completed a full school year at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic, defending indigent clients charged with crimes in Rockford, Illinois at the Winnebago County Courthouse. He was awarded the Outstanding Clinical Student award in 2016 for his work at the Zeke Giorgi Clinic. He earned the Criminal Practice Certificate from the College of Law upon graduation. Jason graduated Northern Illinois University College of Law in May 2016, Magna Cum Laude, and passed the Illinois Bar Exam in November 2016 on his first attempt. He was sworn into the Illinois Bar in November 2016.

Prior to Law School, Jason spent more than eleven years as a construction worker. During that time, he suffered a severe shoulder injury at work which required surgery and extensive rehabilitation. Due to that injury, he has been through the process of a Workers’ Compensation claim and understands the questions and concerns that other injured workers have about the process. Because of his work history and work-related injury, Jason can empathize with and relate to many of the injured workers he now represents before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
